The VCON Conference Bridge (VCB) is an optional module of the award-winning Media Xchange Manager™ (MXM). VCB conferences can either be "meet-me-here" conferences, with each participant dialing into the conference session, or when combined with the Conference Control option on the MXM, the VCB can provide ad-hoc conferencing. In an ad-hoc conference, a VCON user clicks "invite" on their user interface and seamlessly joins a third, fourth or more participants into the call, converting a two-way videoconference into a multipoint call.
Organizations can use the VCB as a small videoconferencing bridge, enhancing the capabilities of the Media Xchange Manager, and bringing another dimension of video telephony to the end-user. Since all VCON endpoints have an "invite" button, adding additional participants into an existing videoconference is easy and seamless.
The 1-session VCB does not need its own dedicated PC, and therefore, can be loaded onto a MediaConnect 9000 system, providing an embedded MCU. The 1-session VCB can also be loaded onto the PC in which the MXM is running; both options enabling the user to maximize PC resources. |
