ABSTRACT:
Most training and e-learning tools fail to help organizations maximize the return on their software investments. Through interviews with service providers, this white paper identifies the most important capabilities of an effective enterprise application training platform. The paper also examines the pressures companies and their project managers confront when tackling enterprise application implementations and upgrades.
This paper gives a close look at the five factors - business alignment, communications, training, measurement, and support and reinforcement - that determine the success or failure of enterprise application implementations and upgrades. By properly addressing critical success factors, companies not only accelerate ROI, but also increase the size and scope of returns while sustaining those benefits over a longer period of a time.
Finally, the paper examines the complete life cycle of an enterprise application project: design and requirements; implementation, quality assurance and testing; pre-go-live pilot; go-live; and support and upgrades. By using an effective enterprise application training platform, managers can strengthen project management efforts and reduce the time required for their organizations to realize - and exceed - the expected returns on their enterprise software investments.
