ABSTRACT:
How does outsourcing fit into your business strategy? Outsourcing in IT is fundamental. Make fundamental changes in what is happening in your business operations, in your IT operations, in the things that you can do with IT as you move forward so you not only have to have that part, your business strategy but your tactical plan as you move forward and you have to consider about insourcing and outsourcing and a combination of that as you go forward.
What IT services do you really need? What is the value of control versus customization? If you are doing in-house you control it all, everything goes along at your pace, if it is going to be customized and it is going to be outsourced what is the cost of that customization? What is the cost of maintaining your own in-house to keep a customized set of services if you do something in a specific way? What happens if you go to a standardized package? Can you actually realize newer benefits by changing your existing processes to become more standardized and freeing up and going with an outsourced service provider versus having your own IT organization inhouse so you have full control and full customization capability.
