ABSTRACT:
A number of options are available for deploying a messaging security infrastructure. One option is to host security offsite. Many vendors provide hosted security services; the MX records direct all e-mail through the host data center and the host processes the mail. A number of options for on-site security are also available. One is to use a security appliance to provide dedicated antivirus and antispam processing. Another is to install security software directly on an Exchange server and manage it with in-house or third-party staff. Organizations need to determine which option best meets their needs.
