ABSTRACT:
When data center consolidation is used to centralize servers and applications from remote sites, providing adequate rack space and power becomes a real challenge. This webcast explores a technique to circumvent oversubscription, increase visibility, and simplify data center management. Watch it to learn how collapsing switching tiers in the networking allows you to do the following:
  • Simplify Layer 2 design with L2 loop prevention, elimination of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) at the access tier, and Virtual Chassis techonology, which enables multiple switches to operate and be managed as a single, logical switch
  • Improve performance by connecting the access tier straight to the core, which lowers application latency and increases network and system availability
  • Reduce complexity by reducing oversubscription and underutilization, integrating security services in the data center and reducing the number of devices
