ABSTRACT:
The growth of Software as a Service applications and cloud-based computing has been nothing short of explosive. It's estimated that worldwide SaaS revenues will grow from $6.5 billion dollars to $20 billion dollars by 2012, while the market opportunity for cloud-based computing is in excess of $160 billion dollars.

So the big question is, how will these cloud-based applications communicate with each other, and more importantly, with the majority of enterprise applications which continue to reside on premise?

In this program, we'll focus on the latest technologies being used to solve this problem, such as SaaS integration appliances, virtual appliances and cloud-based integration.

Gartner Research Director Frank Kenney examines the latest trends and technologies being used to address the integration challenges posed by the rapid growth of SaaS and cloud-based computing. You'll also hear Doug Menefee, CIO of America's fastest-growing emergency medical care company – The Schumacher Group – reveal how he addressed these integration challenges using technologies from Cast Iron Systems to rapidly integrate his core IT infrastructure.
