Achieving a greater depth of understanding, whether that is about customers, suppliers or mobile traffic is fundamental to many business operations. Yet, this understanding does not come easily - it requires sophisticated analytic capabilities that allow you to analyze large volumes of data
Supporting such understanding requires the ability to support flexible analytic environments, often with low latency requirements, large volumes of data to analyze, diverse data sources, growing numbers of users and more stringent service level agreements. This is not to mention growth in data volumes, which is being driven, in particular, by the Internet and Web 2.0.
This paper will review some use cases where it is important to be able to use web-based data for analytics. We will then go on to consider the sorts of requirements that are necessary to support these environments, both from an analytic database and a data integration perspective, and we will consider how one particular pair of vendors (Talend and Infobright) meet these requirements.
